I worked with Ari Weinzweig, founder of Zingerman’s and pastry chef Charlie Frank to develop new packaging and elevate the visual identity for the Zzang! chocolate bar. With this particular chocolate, they sought a design that resembled more of a collector's item and had an elegant, expensive look and feel while still fitting in with the rest of Zingerman’s products (which have a more illustrative, almost childlike visual identity). Portraying the story behind the Zingerman’s brand was an important consideration as well. I took all of this information into account when making careful aesthetic choices ranging from the form of the box to typographic selections and color combinations.
